April is National Poetry Month! Let's celebrate by creating our own artistic poems. Redacted Poetry, also called Blackout Poetry, has minimal rules, focusing on selecting words from an existing text (book, newspaper) to form a new poem and covering the rest with black (or color), lines, or art, allowing for complete creative freedom in word choice and visual design. Key steps involve finding an anchor word, circling related words with a pencil, and then permanently blacking out or decorating everything else, creating a unique poem and visual piece.

We will put on some lo-fi music and spend an hour with old book pages and art supplies creating some poems. This event is for teens ages 12-17!
